THE SECRET OF LITTLE FINGER

       Once upon a time, there lived an empire family in the kingdom. After a few years ,the King and his queen had a daughter. The princess was named Josset. Princess Josset grew into a beautiful and kind girl. It made her parent more loved her. Princess Josset was famous until another land as a perfect girl. At the time, king wanted his daughter to got married .

       Many princes from many lands wanted to got married with princess Josset, and they fighted each other to got her love. King gave many challenges for theme. As the result, they were 3 prince who  had choosen. King asked to her daughter to decided who would be her husband. Princess Josset was confuse, and she had idea. She choosed one of her fingers and hiden it on the back. After that, the princes guessed and pointed which finger maybe same with her. first prince was wrong because pointed his thumb. Second prince pointed his forefinger, it also wrong finger. When the third prince, he pointed his little finger. Actually, princess Josset showed what finger she hiden and it same with third prince,it was little finger. That prince’s name was Barnabas. At the time, princess Josset and prince Barnabas were love each other. They fastened their little finger and promised to keep faithful until died. Their wedding party was very royally. Everyone was happy and gave blessing for them.

       One day, the war was happened in that land. King ordered his son in law, prince Barnabas to leaded the war. Princess Josset was very worried to let his husband did it. But, prince Barnabas just asked  his wife made a promised to always wait him. Princess Josset agreed and they promised each other, then they fastened their little finger to binden their promised. After two days, the war was finish and that kingdom won it. But, one of soldier appraised that prince Barnabas was died in the war. Princess Josset very sad when heard it. Every day she always cried. King and queen so sad when looked their daughter. They had planed to searched new husband for princess Josset. She just followed what her parent want. There was a prince applied to marry her. She just pointed her little finger. The prince did not understand about that and he put a ring in princess josset’s little finger. She threw it and cried. Suddenly, a mysterios man who weared a alb was entered the kingdom to met princess Josset. She assumed that he also wanted to had her. she pointed her little finger and the man replied it. they fastened his little finger each other. Princess Josset was surprised. The man opened his alb and made everyone surprised. He was prince Barnabas. Princess Josset was very happy, she believed her husband would came back to her.

       In the midnight, princess Josset woke up from her sleep. She saw prince Barnabas opened the window and she came to him. Prince barnabas said that he had died actually. He came again just to fulfilled his promised to came back from the war and asked to princess Josset to not sad again. He also wanted to said goodbye to his beloved wife, princess Josset. She didn’t belived it. 

       In the morning, she saw Barnabas’s carcase was arounded. King and queen tried to firm their daughter. Princess Josset knew that his husband really died. Suddenly, she killed herself and died too. She fulfilled her promised to faithful until they were died. Finally, they were died together. It was the power of love and faith with the little finger.

THE REAL WOMAN (hortatory Eksposition)

THE REAL WOMAN

In modern era right now, many children have problems because of less interesting from their parent especially their mother. Some parents are busy with their job, so that their children don’t get care about their school, their society, their attitude, etc. so that, woman action at home is needed for some reasons.

Firstly, based on statement above we know that the children personality is influential from woman (mother) education at home. Woman as a good mother should give knowledge that her children don’t get in the school or in the social environment. For example, how to do social interaction well, how make good attitude, how to carry out the good manner, etc. its reason because some children have closeness with their mother more than their father.

Secondly, a good woman is a good wife for her husband. Its mean that woman in the household should help her husband to solve their household problems together. Woman as a wife must support her husband in his job.

Thirdly, woman is not apart from housework. They must arrange all of thing that is needed by her household. They always clean the house, manage the house, arrange the house, etc.

But in this era, woman should get high education to develop their self and just not stay at home. Because it can help her to stand alone or help her husband to get money. Moreover, they can produce perquisite more than man because sometimes woman has skills more than man from a particular part. With education, a woman will find herself useful and discover what she wants in her life.

"BARALEK" IN MY HOMETOWN (explanation)

“BARALEK” IN MY HOMETOWN

Every regions have different cultures each other. We can see that in  wedding processions. There are some step of wedding processions in my hometown, Bukittinggi.

Firstly, there is a family meeting. Woman’s family come to man’s home and discuss about their children’s relationship. Usually, in this occasion, they will make certain when engangement day will be held. 

Secondly, there is the engangement or it is called “Batando”. Woman’s family come to man’s home and they are wearing the engangement ring each other as a symbol that they have ready to get married. In this moment, the families also decide about the wedding date.

After that, the marriage settlement in the woman’s home and it also can be held in mosque or closest religion office. Then, in the evening  the bride groom that is called marapulai is accompanied  to bride’s home. Bride in Minangkabau is called anak daro. This moment is named “urang pulang”.

Then the wedding party or “baralek” be held. In the beginning, it be held in anak daro’s home and then marapulai’s home. Before anak daro’s family go there, marapulai’s family will come to anak daro’s home with the term is “mamanggia”. After that, anak daro and marapulai are accompanied to marapulai’s home by wearing Minangkabau traditional custom. If their homes are near, so they are bowed by walking together or ba arak. In this procession, women from anak daro’s family bring baban or talam langkok.

After baralek in marapulai’s home, the women of marapulai’s family come to anak daro’s home in the next day. They also bring talam langkok. This event is named “manjalang kandang”. In this moment, they are lunch together in a big plate. Minangkabau people call that makan bajamba.

In the last step, turn for men from marapulai’s family come to anak daro’s home in same day with manjalang kandang but it is in the evening. They come with marapulai. This procession is called “makan siso”. After makan siso, so the wedding procession in my hometown is finish.

There are some step of the wedding processions in my hometown. I love the custom of my hometown  very much. I  find some different ways from other region although it’s still in west sumatera. So, how about your hometown?.

MY HOMETOWN, MY TOUR TOWN

       I think all of citizens in West Sumatera almost know about my hometown. It’s in Agam regency where Bukittinggi is the town about 2-3 hours from Padang. My hometown has distance between 2 km from the town center. Its periphery town and so near with city hall in Gulai Bancah. Now, I will describe about my hometown, especially its tourist place.

       My hometown has cool climate because it is between the mountain range Merapi-Singgalang. It is makes some people have job like a farmer and seller. If we talking about Agam and Bukittinggi, we’ll talking about beautiful nature and tourist area. As we know, Bukittinggi has many histories like its buildings for instance jam gadang, Bung Hatta’s house, japan hole, etc. we also get beautiful view from Panorama, Sianok canyon, Kinantan zoo, Fort De Cock’s bastion,etc.

       Agam also has many interesting tourist areas like Bukittinggi. Firstly, there are not far from my house, Ngalau Tarang and a mysterious small lake that we called Tarusan lake. It is called mysterious lake because its water can come and lost suddenly in midnight without anyone know how the process happend. It is signed by loud sound from the lake, and so many mistics story about that lake. Secondly, the new interesting place is great wall of Koto Gadang that has long range in Sianok canyon, it’s like the great wall of China. Thirdly, it is grafity travel from Bukittinggi until Maninjau lake, you’ll see the beautiful view in Ambun Pagi, Puncak Lawang, and the road that can make you dizzy in Kelok 44.

       We can conclude, there are so many places where you can visit it in my hometown. It’s the reasons why so many tourists visit it from our country and another country. I’m so proud with my hometown and I’ll keep and love my hometown forever.

LIVING ALONE AND LIVING WITH FAMILY (comparison contrast )

LIVING ALONE AND LIVING WITH FAMILY

       Some people are not living in their family forever. Sometimes, we must living alone and find our ways. As we do right now, after becoming university students we must living alone like stay in dormitory and it’s far from our family. There are a similarity and some differences between living in our family and living alone.

       The similarity is wherever we stay, we have responsibility to ourself. What we want to be is depend on us. We will decide our life and choose whatever to be the best for ourself. Some people said that life is choice and we must choose it. We also must be brave face our problems alone.

       Beside that, so many differences between living in our family or our parent especially living alone. When we stay with our parent, they always control us and if we far from theme we will control what we do by ourself. If we live in dormitory right now, we must prepare our need alone, meanwhile living with parent , they can help us to prepare it.

       We can conclude that there are so different between living in family and living alone. If I must to choose between them, I will to choose living in my family. But, sometimes I aware that we must learn many things for face many problems in our life.

          In studying, everyone has interesting subject and uninteresting subject. Writing is one of interesting subject for me because we can express our felling into a paper. Based on it, we could make story, diary, poetry, report, information, etc. But in writing I on last semester, I just studied about phrase or clause. Every meeting, we made exercise and I got good mark for it. Although that, sometimes I found some mistakes when studied it.I will tell you about some mistakes what ever I did when making exercise in learned writing I.
          The first one, I was translating word by word based on dictionary sometimes. It happend because less of vocabulary and just focused on one dictionary word,whereas one word has a boundle of meanings in English. As the result, the translation was unclear and seldom error sentences recognition.
          The second was, I often had no ideas about what I wanted to write. This happened because I did not concentrate and in a hurry. Usually, it will become big problem for writer. I often no ideas before writing exercise in writing I and so do my friends.
          The last mistake was, I usually wrote in Indonesian style. That happened because of translating word by word based on dictionary. For beginners, it was sometimes done. I think I can revise it if I always do exercise and read more books.
          In summary, There are some my mistakes of experience lectured writing I and I got B point for that.Hopely, I will not repeat my mistakes again, I believe I can be better than before if I study hard in writing II for get A point and I want to be a good writer in the future.
